Our Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from the 2018 vintage is a special wine for us. Designated for our Reserve Circle members, it is a tribute to the early winegrowing days of our region. Cabernet was one of the first varieties planted in the Santa Clara Valley well before the Civil War. At Sarah's, we take pride in helping to recall and reestablish the Valley's reputation for growing great Cabernet Sauvignon.
This 208 Cabernet Sauvignon is smooth and beautifully balanced and while it's wonderful in the glass right now, will nicely reward a few years of patient cellaring. On the nose, it displays bright red berry fruit, dark cherry, raspberry, and cocoa, with a touch of floral and spice; there are also aromas of cinnamon, star anise, and vanilla. The flvors mittor the aromas with deep cherry/berry fruit, red currant, leather and a long vanillin-oak laden finish. For pairings, think braised short ribs and over roasted vegetables - or just enjoy it by itself.
