Pronounced “new-ee dawn-fair,” the name Nuits d'Enfer suggests a night of passion and no-rules possibilities. The 2018 NdE earns its reputation and black-label Reserve status as an untamed Bordeaux Right Bank-style blend that pairs brooding Cabernet Franc to pedigreed Merlot.
The 2018 Nuits d'Enfer is bursting with rich, red fruit aromas and flavors: full, ripe dark cherry and bright cranberry. On the palate, baking spice flavors combine with a hint of vanilla. The mouthfeel is dense and the tannins are elegant while still young and fresh; the finish is long and lively. The bright acidity lends well to food-pairing and would be delicious served alongside bacon stuffed pork tenderloin and sautéed mushrooms.
